I was just wondering how many runners on here are running club members? I'm not, but was wondering if anyone would recommend them?
Also, does anyone run with a short-sleeved t shirt over a long, and if so, how do you find it works? What type of T's do you wear ~ compression or ordinary tech?
Hi, I've just joined a Running Club in my area and love it. Very friendly members, no one ever gets left behind and I find it motivational running with others. Whereabouts are you from?
Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm down in the darkest depths of Devon; well, near Plymouth and Exeter. There are some local clubs, but as a relative newbie to running I don't want to be the one who holds the group up!
Regards wearing a T-shirt over a long-sleeved top: I sometimes do that. I wear standard tech tees - often race freebies, as these are usually quite big (they don't have women's fit, and men's small are usually quite big on me).
My son thinks I look strange, but I don't see it as very different to the usual 'running club vest over Helly Hanson base layer' that he and all the other hill runners wear to hill races.
Thanks for the reply. I shall try the tech tee (Rab) under a short sleeved t and see how I get on. I don't want to be too hot, but I need a layering system and I have seen some runners out like it.
I bow down to your son and other hill runners. I saw some wirey old men once in Yorkshire dressed in micro-shorts and vests whilst we were in full oudoor gear and packed rucksacs...how silly did we feel as they disappeared over the hill as we consulted the map yet again!
I use long sleeved compression tops under tech Ts when the weather dictates and find it really comfortable (in fact comfort-wise I prefer it to a standard running top).
Thanks, I shall try it. I doubt it will work as it is hormonal after being partly 'seen-to' down below....I shan't go into details! I will, however, give it a go.
