I usually do my C25K runs at lunchtimes which gives me the morning to worry about it. Luckily I had some interesting code to write this morning, but my subconscious still kept popping excuses for delaying the run into my head. "You've got a bit of a headache, do you think it is a good idea to run?", "You took your meds a bit late today, supposing they haven't kicked in yet?", and "That thigh still aches a little from W5R2, let's put it off a few days".
The weird thing was I'd spent most of the weekend looking forward to the run, but I noticed when I got up from my desk my hands were actually shaking a little.
I needn't have worried. With so much good advice from the runners in this forum, I knew how to handle it. I was half way up a hill when I hit the 10 minute mark and knew then that as long as I took it steadily I had it in the bag. The second 10 minutes felt great!
So thank-you everyone for your advice and encouragement. I'm truly amazed I've got this far.
Now Week 6 Run 1... that looks really easy... 😜
