Running is a great way to get a trimmer figure and it will tone up your body from ankles to waist, but running by itself will not shift much in the way of fat deposits until you are running for longer durations, so don't start if all you want is to lose belly fat.
If you would like to be fitter, better toned, more confident, happier and smug and pink, then C25k is the way to go.
Do check out the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... for loads of tips, including diet.
Running will help with all over body weight loss but you have to be really mindful of what you're eating. Try using something like my fitness pal😊

What the others say, but for us and we didn’t plan on losing weight, we didn’t diet and we didn’t lose weight but there is 3 inches less on my waist so much more toned now

I've read a lot of stuff recently about how any kind of exercise when trying to lose weight actually isn't helpful.. research shows people either reward themselves with food, I.E. I've run for 5 minutes I can have a donut, or they are actually hungry... exercise triggers the hunger hormone Grehlin. I put on the most weight I've ever carried when I was training for a HM, I believe caused by the energy gels I used. I've exercised all my life, different types of exercise, and never lost an ounce.
Of course everyone's different, Ghost222 you should check out the research on any of the many Keto sites (I use Diet Doctor)

All I can say is that despite not starting this for weight loss, it has shifted fat off my hips. Same for my daughter.

Not in my experience no!
Definitely toning up the legs, but no difference in the belly area to speak of, I've just finished week 7 ☺
It probably depends on what you're eating and whether you have much to lose - you know what they say, you can't outrun a bad diet 😂

Rewarding your exercise with too many calories is something to be aware of. Try to eat filling foods, rather than high calorie foods.
I lost a lot of weight before I started c25k and running has definitely helped me to keep it off. Although I'm reasonably happy now, I'm mother of the bride in two month's time and want to keep a track. I recently downloaded Myfitnesspal (a second great recommendation here, after the Nike running app). I've linked it to my Fitbit and it's really helpful to see the effect of exercise on my calorie allowance. Now, I know neither Fitbit nor Myfitnesspal are strictly accurate, but it's helpful to have instant feedback on the effects of all that bread I love!
Good luck!
