My normal routes have consisted of hills. I rather like them! However today with a bit of niggly shin grumbles I thought I’d do my last 28 min run of c25k on the flat. It was good and a bit speedier but I’ve definitely found some new muscles! Now heading into week 9 of this repeat of c25k. Flat or hills? Road or trail? Upto now I’ve done all of this c25k on roads. I loved the trails previously but wasn’t sure if the uneven surfaces contributed to the shin splints which caused a long interruption to my running so that’s why I’ve stayed on the road. Decisions decisions for the final week!

Oh how exciting to be so close to the finish! I guess I’m keeping a lot of things constant. The one thing I vary is flat vs hilly. Last week I had the first 20 min run and did it on flat/gentle downhill. But today I deliberately chose a hilly route because I want to feel ok with running up/down/flat. Realistically I’m not going to do trails so I stick to roads.
Oh but I don’t know what you should do 😂😂😂🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️

Hey Dowat, well done, I've got one more 28 min run to do so I'm a run behind you in the cycle, and I've been experimenting between a hilly and flat route this last week, I found my first 28 min along the nearby canal to be a lot easier than my normal hilly route - think I'm going to keep the variation to avoid boredom setting in!
