Well the day started off bad, got a migraine, had not drunk enough water during the day having problems with one of the utility companies wanting to close my road for three weeks, where do I put my car? Grr. Had to put the wifes car at her sisters so started my session late. Started my session and my hamstring was pulling in my right leg, calves stiff as usual, 3 minute run not great, walk then 5 minute run and everything slipped into place, one of the most enjoyable sessions to date, finished so much happier than I started. Easier than Monday's run, not easy by any means but just flowed like it hasn't before, I think I am getting there.

Ha! This is what is brilliant about running - you never know what kind of run you are going to get! I have often started out feeling niggly and grumpy, and after 5 mins or so got into the zone and ended the run grinning. (It can also go the other way, so be warned!) Really glad you are getting on well with the training. Well done! And stick with it, the rewards for your efforts keep coming. 👍

The first 10 mins or so of a run are always hard. It's called the Toxic 10 and there was a good discussion about it on here a few days ago. Great that everything came good for you in the end - we all need runs like that! Fingers crossed for the next run too!🙂

What a start to your day! Glad it turned out ok for you, a good run can really turn your day around. Maybe think about some dynamic stretches as part of your warmup to prevent those twinges. I'm old and creaky, and I regret it if I run without doing those first. (Swinging leg side to side, then back and forward.)

Not that it will help my hamstring, but I am supposed to do some stretched for plantar Fasciitas, shoukd be doing those daily but never do. You are right, time ti start stretching.

I'm a fine one to talk, this has just reminded me to go off and do my own stretches!! :D

Very impressed that you carried on and got through it, despite the bad start to the day.

I had plantar fasciitis up until about a year ago, and I find some stretching as soon as I'm out of bed very helpful and then I don't have to worry about it all day. When we sleep it contracts apparently, so it's good to gently stretch it first thing when we wake.

You're definitely getting there, keep going slow and steady.
