This morning’s session was a bit of a dog’s breakfast. I had just started the first 5min run interval and the podcast stopped! Turns out I had lost internet access. For complicated geoblock reasons I can’t get the app so I need to use the podcasts, and although I could swear I’d downloaded them all, obviously not.
By the time my oxygen deprived brain had figured out I needed to stop and restart the phone, I’d already taken a guess at the 5mins and so when I did get it restarted I was out of sync. I decided to go with the flow and just complete the session from where the podcast restarted, meaning I will get a slap on the wrist from the run police for doing 3x5mins rather than2x5. Breathing etc was fine so I think I can count this as session completed!

After it happened to me a couple of times I started using timer apps. Found a really good one , it allows you to set up all you custom intervals, gives you verbal prompts and half-way-through prompts, plays your music.
It’s called Seconds, I payed a small one-off fee for the full version, but I found it worth it. I now write interval timers for all my workouts, including stretches. It has text-to-voice, so I don’t have to remember order or duration of exercises.
