Running in heat

Hi all. Just completed w3 and off on holiday tomorrow. (lucky me😎) It’s going to be very very hot. Real feel 36. I’m worried I’ll lose all my progress if I don’t run for 2 weeks but can’t imagine running when it’s so hot. Touring and staying in guest houses so no hotel gyms. Any tips?

As stated in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you will not lose significant condition in two weeks of non running.

If you can, run outdoors early in the day.

Hydrate fully.

Lucky you - heat. ☀️ Keep well hydrated, take water with you, it can be a bit sloshy in the bottle but worth having it - as well as drinking you can pour over head. Try for early morning or late evening, in the shade if you can find it. Most of all really listen to your body, if in doubt, stop. The run will still be there another day. Happy holidays

Hi KRon19, lucky you escaping to the heat. My C25K journey was spread between the UK, Cyprus and Oman. In the hotter weather I set my alarm to get out as early as possible and drank lots of water. My plan was to have a go at running in the heat and to do as much as possible but I surprised myself by completing all the runs. Enjoy ☀️
