One Year On...

As with most key dates in my life - birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas etc, I have a habit of forgetting when they are. And my Runiversary is no different. I'm sure I started C25K in February 2019, but it appears it was actually 22 January 2019, and I've got the Strava post to prove it.

Wow, how things have changed over the past 12months (+1 week)

For a start, I no longer run in jeans, hoody and big thick winter coat! What was I thinking??πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

That struggle to run week 1 seems a distant memory now as I'm regularly smashing PBs at the 5K Parkrun, and clocking up runs of 10K and more each week as I work towards a half marathon in a few months time.

For all of you starting out on this C25K journey, be encouraged. This time next year, you'll look back and be amazed how far you've come. Keep going. You're doing great, and no matter how much you think you're struggling, there are people all around you, watching in awe at just how amazing you are!

I ran a HM back in 2010 the day before I got married. I wanted to run it in my Top Hat & Tails but my mother stopped me. Something about my fiancé won't say 'I Do' if she gets to the end of the aisle and smells your sweat from the day before. My mum was probably right! 🀣
