Running around the family

Hi all 👋

I just wondered how others ran around family life.

I have 3 young children and work full time.

It would be interesting to know where others fit it in.

Thanks all

Hi there, it sure is difficult to set aside time for running when you have responsibilities. I run a couple of lunchtimes as there is a shower at work. Admittedly I live in France where we have a long lunch break. Third run on a Sunday. I think it helps to find specific times / days then fix them as untouchable time for you. Good luck.

Not too bad then. Unfortunately I have lunch at my desk 😭😭

It seems to me like you’ve take. Time to plan it out and that probably what I need to look at to see what can be done when.

I’m pretty stuck at the moment as we’ve 2 newborns so need to wait until they get a little bigger so I can get out again.

I did contemplate taking them out with me but temperatures are a bit too cold here at the moment.

I run on Monday nights when the girls are off to guides and the plan was to run on Thursday evenings between dropping off and picking up my daughter from Kung Fu, but that isn't working out. I'm probably going to change that to the Thursday morning at 6am to get back in time for the school run and heading off to work. Not sure how well that's going to work though....😕

I do another run on Saturday mornings with my youngest daughter but I've decided that I won't be able to do that as part of the C25K programme as she won't be able to keep up with the pace of change. So I'm just treating that as a 'maintenance' run. It'll take me longer to finish the course but this way it fits around my lifestyle and I'll get there in the end. 😁

You just have to come up with a plan that works best for you and don't rule out early mornings and late evenings.

Early mornings are a great idea, if there is someone in the house for the babies. Unfortunately I'm in a village, there is a lovely farm/forest road run, but given my clumsiness it has to be done in daylight.🤣

I also live in a village. Just not in France! 😭. I love the proper nature runs. I’d like to maybe get in to trial running? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah. You seem to have it organised! It doesn’t matter how long it takes so long as you complete it.

I guess I do have my days off work I could go.
