I started typing this up on Wednesday, then got side-tracked for some reason, I did start late so it could have been due to a conference call or something.
Wednesday
I really didn't feel like a 7kph 25 minute this morning, not sure why either. So I did the 5 minute warm up walk and set off for a slow 6kph jog.
For some reason my head wasn't in it but I carried on, at 25 minutes I upped the pace and completed the remaining 5 minutes at 8kph with no issues from my ankle.
Thursday
Headed to the gym for a mid morning session, Mrs LeeU went to do her run there and I headed to the opposite side of the gym for the weight machines and free weights.
I'd found a new workout that I wanted to try that involves lifting the heaviest weight first and then dropping it by 10% for follow on sets with a 3 minute rest in-between.
I had trouble lifting my arms to the steering wheel on the way home.
Friday
I feel a little bunged up this morning, my nose is running slightly and I ache but that is from the gym yesterday.
Wasn't sure on what type of run I wanted to do this morning so I got the 5 minute warm up walk out of the way and set off at 6kph, nice, slow and steady.
10 minutes later I pushed the speed up by 0.5 kph, during this phase I did get a little ache from my ankle but no pain, so I pushed on.
After another 10 minutes the speed went up to 7kph and on I went, ankle fine, breathing fine and I'd not even checked my heart rate since the beginning of the run, so I left it that way.
5 minutes later the speed went up another 0.5kph and stayed there for the remaining 5 minutes. I did want to continue but I needed to get cooled down and showered before work starts.
To say I didn't know what type of run I wanted to do I think that really scratched an itch as I loved it, still feel a little bunged up and boy do I ache.
Last gym session of the week and the last one on a Saturday before I start with the personal trainer next weekend, I must admit there is both excitement and trepidation about that.
Happy running everyone!
