Held up

W1 R3 held up by my waking up yesterday morning with severe foot pain - probably not because of running. I have a history of suddenly suffering foot pain (ask my wife about the infamous holiday in France where she drove me home and I was better 2 days later)

However, 4 doses of Naproxen later, I am hoping I can complete W1 within time

Let's see

Is it Gout?

The first time I experienced it, it was gout. However, I have had sundry attacks over the years in different parts of my feet - the doctors haven't been able to diagnose. Naproxen seems to clear it after a couple of days

I have gout (Uric acid tests are high), it moves all over both feet and both big toes, never consistent really! happens very quick some times and others it's just a twinge. I take Prednisone which kills it quickly or Colchicine if it needs a bit more time. Naproxen makes me feel ill but the others aren't much fun either! It's totally controllable by being fit and healthy and was a major motivation in me starting C25K. I have only had one minor attack since I started running so fingers crossed it will get even better as I drop more weight,

You may be suffering from a Gout attack. Is the pain in the big toe joint?

I had recurring attacks that became more frequent. I have almost normal uric acid levels and was running between 10 - 15k, 3 times a week. My doctor prescribed Alopurinol, 10mg, 1 a day and, not a twinge or side effect since for the last 2 years or so.
