The restart of C25K (post injurys/life stuff) had stalled and the plan is to restart on Tuesday. But it's such a beautiful day today I really wanted to go out for a run. The diary is rather crazy today so know there isn't time to do a week 4 run π’
So I dumped that idea, got back from riding the horse, swapped wellies for trainers and headed out , still in my jodphurs π
5 min warm up walk, followed by an 8 min run. I only covered 1km on the run but I feel SOOO much better for having done it.
It took a long time for me to accept that short runs are not cheating. I now count them as mental health moments, though why I feel the need to justify this to myself I have no idea π€·ββοΈ
I hope you are all able to make use of the dry weather x Happy running folks xxx

Well done for grabbing the time to run on this gorgeous sunny day. Sorry to hear that you've been on the Injury Couch recently, hope all better now. βΊ
Well done on your jogette. Sounds like you made the most of your morning to me. Todayβs a rest day for me but I took the dog for a big muddy walk. Loved seeing the sunshine at last! Beautiful day.
All runs are runs and they all count. Sometimes you just have to grab whatever time you have. The me of this time last year would have scoffed, but now I'd take 8mins running over none at all any time..
I too was a scoffer {hangs head in shame} A dear friend of mine would often say she had done a 10 min run that morning. Whats the point, would run through my head. She collapsed during a running event last year and was banned from any running for 6 months by the doctor. Thankfully all is well now and she's building back up.
You are completely right, let's grab what we can, while we can x
That image of you running in your jodhpurs and running shoes made me smile I have only run in jodhpurs after falling off and trying to catch up with my pony!!
I thoroughly enjoy my every third run when I do intervals for 20 minutes. It conditions my legs to run faster the next time out and breaks the tyranny of the 30 minute non stop run.
