Just wanted to share that I graduated this morning. Whilst I felt really pleased for doing it, I also feel slightly deflated that I didn't run 5K. I ran for 32 minutes and did 4.35K. I feel like I'm not very good but am still enjoying it. It's so strange that you spend almost the whole run thinking 'when will this end?' And then not long after getting back you're thinking about when you can go again!! π€
Oh, how do I get a graduation badge please? Everyone's posts on here have really helped me to realise I'm not the only one who thinks they're not very good! so thank you.

Congratulations!! That is such an achievement. Not about speed - you can run for 30 mins! Your post made me laugh, I think when will this end, why am I doing this... but sooo pleased with myself after! Join the consolidation forum.
I have just read the article. Thank you very much for all the advice, I had been wondering how to progress now without being told what to do. I really don't want to over do it and get injured. Thanks.
Congratulations and well done. ππππππ There's a whole world of running out there now!
I started off with three consolidation runs. I read every link, watched every YouTube video and magazine article I could find on how to move forward (literally π€£). I decided that what I really want from running isn't speed or distance, it's to stay healthy and make running a regular part of my life. I decided during the winter to just carry on the three times a week routine, one 5k, one slow distance jog (the most I've done is 7k) and one interval run - three minutes slow, followed by two minutes as fast as I can. I only do that for 20 minutes. I've thought about a parkrun, but not done one yet. I think they can be a bit crowded this time of year and I enjoy running on my own anyway. In the spring I might think about it again.
If it's speed you're after, I can see that it's the interval running that's improving my performance. Good luck.
Yay ! Massive congratulations π₯βοΈβοΈβοΈ ! I graduated in February and Iβve still never got past 3k, so Iβm all admiration (and short legs π)
Well done on your graduation. Don't feel down hearted, few graduate at 5k . However given the distance you managed in 30mins I predict you will achieve 5k in 30 or less in weeks to come.
Wishing you many more happy running days ahead .πββοΈπββοΈ
A huge well done is well deserved. You sound exactly like I did when I graduated. Donβt worry about the 5K thing just running for 30 mins is one great achievement. I ended up doing wk9 run3 to consolidate for a while then moved on to C25k+ podcasts which I vary and do 3 times a week. I love the speed bursts podcast. Iβm still using these 1 year on as for me itβs not about speed or distance I just run and Iβm sorry to say Iβm still relieved when itβs over but I still look forward to the next run. ππ
What could you manage 4 months ago? I bet 4.35K in 32 minutes would have seemed like an impossible dream, but you've done it! Well done!
(2 years ago, I would be out of breath jogging to the next lamp post. Running half marathons was a totally impossible dream. I don't dream any more because I've now run a half marathon.)
