Chuffed to bits, from a hobby cyclist who had no interest in running but could happily ride 20 miles I have now completed 3 parkruns and only got wk9 run 3 left to do which will be a parkrun on saturday.
The first week was a killer, how hard can running for a minute be, well I would much rather 20miles on the bike.
How things have progressed, I not saying it gets any easier, you just seem to go longer.
I am now running 5k in just under 35mins and gradually its reducing.
From a complete anti runner to this has shocked me a bit, but I think it may have bitten me and I am now looking forward to beyond week 9.
I really need some sort of plan to follow and hopefully get below 30mins for 5k over the next few months. Anyone have a plan they follow post C25k?
My advice to all the newbies, just follow the plan and keep trying, it's not how fast you are its keeping going for the times in the plan, speed comes on its own.
Also buy decent running shoes, make a massive difference to the aches and paims, best investment I made.
It doesn't matter how slow you are, you are faster than the person sat on the couch.
My mental state of mind has vastly improved over the past few months and I believe running will stay with me for some time yet.
Thanks Couch to 5k, its been a life changing experience.
