Go slow, go really slow.. have you taken a rest day? you can always take another rest day and drink plenty of water, eat some lovely fruit and veg, stretch a bit and get a good nights sleep then have a run tomorrow, if you are finding week 2 tires you out too much go back to week 1 and do a run again then see how you feel after a rest day or 2

Good luck, you could always ignore the above and either try or not listen to your body but most of all embrace the fun of running you will progress

I've had a rest day from a session but not a rest day as such but realised I didnt drink enough yesterday or sleep well. I think I'm going to rest it out today. I suffer from cfs/me worst thing would be to have a relapse 😥

Maybe go for a walk then as a rest day isn’t for just laying on the couch, not sleeping well is enough to put anyone off, so enjoy your rest day and drink that water, i drink loads of tea so by the kettle is a glass of water which i drink while the kettle is boiling the water for my tea,

keep posting i’m looking forward to seeing you progress

Do the warm up exercises and see how you feel. You might feel better after you’ve run and got those endorphins pumping 👍😁

No harm in taking an extra rest day if you feel it's necessary, just don't let it become a perpetuating habit.

Alternatively, try it and see what happens. You'll either slept yourself and complete it, or you'll end up doing it again in a couple of days.

In the early days, there's a fine line between overdoing it, injuring yourself and setting yourself back, and taking unnecessary breaks and losing motivation. If you genuinely feel an extra rest day will help you prepare, then that's fine, but if it's just the gremlins grumbling at you, best to ignore them and get out there.

No gremlins.. I have chronic fatigue I need to manage it. Making changes can be hit and miss and have to listen to my body. A brisk walk is better than doing nothing, a jog means I can over do it. Really dont want a week off from off the couch lol

No, definitely not. I would say that in your case, an extra rest day is definitely what is needed. One of the many advantages of following this plan is that we do become more adept at listening to our bodies. Those of us with chronic conditions are, perhaps, already somewhat better attuned through simply having to manage those conditions.

Wishing you every success...

CFS is a bugger. I have friend who wants to do c25k with me once my foot recovers, but she has cfs. Any suggestions how to manage this? Do we take more rest days and accept it is going to take more than 9 weeks? Or do we just play it by feel and try to push to do it in 9 weeks?

I don't have CFS but as a general rule I would say take this at whatever pace you need. Additional rest days are perfectly valid.

Always bear in mind that in C25K, a "week" isn't necessarily the calendar period 7 days, it's simply a useful shorthand for the period of time it takes to successfully complete each set of three runs. Due to a flare up of tendinitis in July 2018, my longest "week" (W2) actually lasted 8 months...

It's a tough one tbh, how long has she had cfs? Everyone is different and at different levels

Guess she has to listen to her body and rest days are important. Maybe 2 days between runs. I'm doing 1 day between runs but 2 days break between weeks. Sleep has been complicated last couple of days. Specially if it converts to insomnia. That makes my fatigue worse. Today its sleep, not enough water and doing to much yesterday. And I should know better. But I guess I'm still learning.
