Working on my consolidation runs after graduating as all the advice says to so tonight I ran my 6th 30 min run.I am NOT quick ( understatement) and tonight was a struggle but I did it. BUT I have shooting pains in my left buttock and hip and it is really stiff to move. Scared to death I’ve done something to make me stop running can anyone tell me what I’ve done and how the heck do I fix it? 🥺

Hi Veganlynz, are you stretching before & after each run? These exercises links are copied from Iannodatruffle’s posting which hopefully will help you.

Hopefully this will ease.. your warm up and post run stretching will help too...also, in your consolidation runs vary the time you run for... short runs are useful too.

We are not medical experts but some of these exercises may help , as they work on toe piriformis muscle ( the pain your butt)...:)

If the shooting pain persists then go see a sports physio as soon as poss. They can advise what's wrong, if you should keep running or rest, then give exercises to help sort it out.
