Despite spending three months on the IC due to plantar fasciitis this year, I’ve still managed to achieve a few goals... although they are pretty weedy compared to some on here. However I did my first park run 16.02.19, then did 3 more. My PB was 32.18. Then my longest run was 6.03km. So much for JuJus 10km plan - I didn’t get too far with that one 😂 During 3 months of no running I did lots of swimming and cycling to keep up fitness.
Now for the funny part - it’s taken me since 04.09.19 to get to week 5 of C25K!! So that’s about a month for a week of the programme!! Oh dear. Well you can’t say I don’t try. I really do love running and despite not achieving much I am still so very proud of the two year journey. It made me laugh when Michael Johnson said to me the other day - I bet you didn’t think you’d be running for this long after just 5 weeks 😂😂 if only you knew MJ. Happy running to you all and thanks to everyone on here who has helped and inspired me on the way.

Not weedy at all CatMo, you had a legitimate reason why you couldn’t speed through - plantar fasciitis is nasty. 👎🙁
Your PR time is quicker than my PB by a minute and I haven’t had prolonged break in my running. So you’re fantastic! You’ll get to 10k if that’s still your goal. Just get out and enjoy your runs. 👍😀🏃♀️
Just rereading replies - thanks Cheeky chipmunk 🐿- as for 10km I really don’t know if I will ever achieve that. I think this year it will be to get to 5km again and do the park runs. I just worry that over 5km could spark the plantar fasciitis.
Happy 2yr Runniversary CatMo, 🎉 which is a terrific achievement in itself. You have come back from a debilitating and painful injury ( as I now can fully appreciate 🙁) and you are inspiring and helping me to realise there is hope that I will get better too.
Our runs are just that, ours alone, even though we carry the support and encouragement of our friends on here along with us as we go.
Hi Catmo, good for you persisting & doing what you can. 😄 Life can be full of running interruptions- having spent a lot of 2019 on the IC, I know that all too well. 🙄
.. but you are a runner & we runners run as we can... some running is SO much better than none. 😀
