After a break don't give up!

So prior to today I've only run twice this month - on the 5th and Christmas Eve - the 5th had been my week 8 run 2 (12 days after W8R1) and it had been ok, but then the rain and getting ready for Christmas put me off. The public footpath I usually use has briefly been closed due to flooding and a field I go through is pure mud. Lots of excuses not to run all in my eyes valid.

I next ventured out on the morning of Christmas eve, but on pavement in my town. I started developing a blister on my left foot and a pain in my right hip, so cut the run element short and walked home having run 18 not 28minutes. Today I went out late afternoon, having given lunch over an hour to settle, and put a plaster over the almost blister. It was late in the day for me but enough time to run before sunset (just). The run was my best to date, strava gave me a whole load of personal bests including a 5k time under 30minutes - 3 minues faster than any previous run! wow!

If you've not run for a week or a fortnight don't give up, put the shoes on and give it a go. perhaps sometimes a rest is what we need, the first one back might be hard but another, and another will see improvement. so glad I did it - only one more week to complete the programme.
