Late posting as I've had a bit of a social media break over the Christmas hols, but I'm ecstatic to be able to say I've done it! I completed the Couch to 5K programme and shortly after took on my first ever 5K Park Run on Saturday 21st December π
It was a tough battle, but I completed my run in an official time of 48:07 - extremely slow but I was hoping to get my time under 50 mins so I was so happy!
My Dad who is a seasoned runner and whose 5Ks are usually sub-20 ran with me the whole way round, coaching me through it and keeping me positive. It was an amazing experience and very emotional as it's been such a life changing journey for me as someone who's always struggled with their weight and didn't think I'd be able to run again after breaking my ankle 4 years ago.
Sorry for the huge ramble but I suppose my message is if I can do it, then literally ANYONE can do it! Here's a photo of me coming in to the finish. Looking very emotional as I promptly burst into happy tears as I crossed the line!

Well done Marth -Elise . I can understand your absolute joy as I am 3 runs away from graduating and my journey has been similar - never a runner until now and I turned 60 this year .
