W5R2.. coming up to big 20mins

W5 Run 2 done last night , felt tired half way through the second 8min run but just about managed it!

Am dreading Run 3..the 20min run...any tips please?

I should point out I'm doing all my training in gym ( too embarrassed/ puffed) to go outside ....wondered if anyone else is just indoor?

Thinking maybe download a specific 20min long playlist/ tv show to help me???

Thanks x

I’m due to do this run on Friday and like you I run in the gym. I’m feeling good after W5R1 yesterday but it does feel like a big step up this week. All everyone keeps saying is run slow and then slower so I think I’ll be taking that on board and I’m conscious I need to up the water intake. Good luck with it and look forward to hearing when you’ve done it 😊

Whatever you do, do not dread any run, that is totally counterproductive.

Try this for size healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Relax and enjoy it.

Thank you --very good link -- I will change my approach...I know its mostly psychological -rather than physical fears ....my heart rate was back to baseline within 2mins of the 8 min jogs yesterday and didn't feel physically tired after it or achey legs..so should be fine !

Don't look too far ahead of the programme. Trust it, relax and just go with it - you will surprise yourself.

Good luck 👍

Up to this point, you've already run 157 minutes in total- that's pretty good preparation for a 20 minute run.

One of my C25k mantras: every run you've done, prepares you for the next one.

Quite simply, your body is actually ready, but your mind is not. You have NOTHING to fear!

The whole idea of a training programme like this is to get you to the end... at some point you have do some continuous running.... and in fact, the jump up from Week 3 to Week 4 is the biggest in the whole program - you've done the hard part already, but you don't know it!

Just take it nice and easy, don't panic and you'll be absolutely, just like the millions around the world who did the same :-)

Good luck! (You don't need it really)
