Should you run with a cough or cold?

Or should you take it easy?

Thanks

I’m no doctor but was advised if the cold is above the neck ok to run at a steady pace , if the cold is on the chest it’s a def no . I’ve actually felt a little better running when I’ve had a bit of a head cold . You could always stop if don’t feel great ,get better soon

I agree with Chezjmc I've run with both, cold you just need plenty tissues and sleeves. Anything in the chest and your lungs will be limiting the volume of oxygen they can process from your breathe making it harder. Even after you think things are on the mend you will find reduced performance and harder to breathe take care

When you are ill your body is stressed.

When you run you stress your body.

This can slow down your recovery and in my experience of running while under the weather, performance will be negatively impacted and enjoyment will probably be zero.

Get fully well then go out and enjoy a good run.

Personally, I don't until I'm definitely on the road to recovery; but that's just me. Plenty of other people do however. There's no universal right or wrong, just listen to your body and don't push it too hard when it's already got other things to deal with.
