Hello everyone
I’ve just signed up because I want to get back to fitness. I’m a young 65, no medical problems, just aches and pains!
Would anyone like to share their Couch to 5K wisdom to help me avoid failing on the first hurdle?
Thank you!

First and foremost... read the full guide! Its jam packed with all the info you need for a successful journey

Most of all, have fun, enjoy it, it really is a fabulous programme and can teach us so much more than just how to run, if we let it 👍🏻😁
Read the guide, go slow, stretch a lot and drink lots of water every day (2-3 litres a day, not easy to achieve!) good luck!
Relax, enjoy, do what each runs podcast tells you nothing more, forget about speed and distance aim to end each run happy ready for the next one, keep posting your progress. Good luck enjoy
Welcome to the forum.
As others have said, read the guide, stretch after every run, forget about speed, relax and enjoy your journey.
Never skip a rest day. These are important in the training schedule in caring for your body as the intensity increases over the coming weeks.
It's not about speed in this programme. You may wish to increase intensity in future months when your body is accustomed to the rigours of running.
Well done taking the first step and signing up. Just go as slow as you want and repeat days/weeks if you need. I have taken at least double the time to get to the end of Week 4, by repeating whole weeks, but it's given me time to get used on how to actually run (61 and never run before this). Also, I have found the first run of the session is always the hardest, so don't be put off. Enjoy yourself - you will soon be hooked!
Hi there I’m the same age as you and just finished the program. You can do it! Follow all the advice already here...
Everything NorwegianWood said.
I'm slightly younger than you and graduated last week with no injuries. My mantra was go slow and take two rest days, not one. Your body gets fitter on rest days, not while you're running.
Good luck and keep posting with your journey 👍
