Fitness after two week break

So after a return to the gym yesterday, following a two week break due to having been away for a few days then doing something to my back, I was pleasantly surprised at how I was still able to run after such a lay off. I graduated a few weeks ago now and had kept up with three times a week running with a view to going outside to run as my next target. After the break I’ve just had however, I was fully expecting have to go back to maybe 15 or 20 minutes and build up again but when I got past those points in yesterday evenings run and still felt good, I kept going. I then got to 30-minutes and still felt good so kept going until I got to 45-minutes, which is further and longer than I have ever run non-stop.... probably not only as an adult but also as a child! I’m a little baffled by this as I still felt ok even after this amount of running. I’ve lost two stone in the last couple of months, which I’m sure has helped but am still no lightweight at 18.5 stone. The only other change I have made in the last two weeks is moving to a plant based diet after watching a really interesting documentary about the benefits to fitness and stamina of such a diet. My reason for posting is to see if there are others on here who have gone down the plant based route and if so whether they noticed a significant change in their fitness as a result.

It's great you enjoyed your run after a break. Well done with your weight loss also.

I think you will really enjoy running outside and hope you try soon.

The only thing I've changed about eating is I now have a small bar of chocolate instead of a family size one. Which has helped with weight loss and it keeps coming off.

I see you don't have your graduate badge . You can get it here.🤗
