I completed first run of week 7 this morning. After my other jogs on the flat round my local park I extended this one to the next park along to give me more variety. It was great - really helped to keep me going even though I found the first 5/8 minutes tough going still - I read the blog on this.
I was thinking of doing it as a Park Run this morning and got some fabulous advice from everyone here - I decided not too as I knew I would want to run it all and didn’t want to push too far too soon (I know you don’t have to run it all and the beauty of Park Run is it gives so many people so much for different reasons - but for me the goal would be running...by which I mean my very slow jog!)
I also started this programme because I was going through such a tough time personally. That returned with an unavoidable situation this afternoon and I was so pleased I’d started today with a run as I really believe it helped give me the strength to be able to deal with it - at least deal with it semi-well and not fall apart. I wish I could run it out tomorrow as well but it’s my rest day so just focusing on looking forward to the next run. This programme is very much helping me by having a focus.
