First Park Run done ✅

After putting it off for a few weeks, I finally did my first park run yesterday! I was very nervous and felt quite intimidated by the amount of runners there, especially when the run started and loads of people seemed to be running past me 😂

I am really pleased with how I did, I stuck to my pace and despite some tricky conditions and hilly bits, I completed it in just over 37 minutes 😊 came 185th out of 220, and came 5th in my age category.

So glad I did it, I felt like a real runner 😂

Well done !! you should be really proud of your time. And 5th in your age group is fantastic. I’m not sure I’d have to guts to do something like that 🤩.

Thank you! You will I’m sure. I never imagined I would be able to run 5K, let alone do a park run! but I did and I love it 😍

This is my goal. To run a park run with my husband. Well to run quite a way behind him but that’s ok. I have music! I’m on week 7 now and finally feeling like I might actually be able to do it.

Congratulations, you are a REAL runner, well done on completing your first 5k Parkrun, glad you enjoyed it.

I remember my first parkrun, I was feeling a bit nervous, a little like just before I ran run 3 of week 5 and run three of week 9 of C25K but as soon as the first timers briefing started* I was much more relaxed and enjoyed my first parkrun.

* since my first parkrun I have got to know the man who gave the first timers the briefing, he does that most weeks, he is in the 75/79 age grading group, once he gives that briefing he runs the parkrun in an average time of around 26 minutes, he often gives me and other runners a "High 5" when he sees us in last 50 metres of the parkrun. 😊

That’s a good time. Well done. There will be those that overtake you, but there will be those that don’t, & some may walk. Concentrate on you 😀😀
