For anyone who is struggling, hopefully my story will help. I will be 60 next year and have not jogged for nigh on 30 years. Yesterday I completed Week 6 , run 3 of Couch to 5K. Slow but no cheating. Only now will I allow myself to believe I can take part in a 5K park run in three weeks time. Yesterday, Michael Johnson informed me that after the brisk walk I would run for 25 minutes . I thought to myself 'this will be a struggle'. Music on and 25 minutes later I had completed the task. From my experience I found it harder earlier on in the programme - Yesterday I paced myself - probably could not have gone much further but when I heard Michael saying 'I am now a runner' ( i would say a jogger) I must admit I was chuffed.

Congratulations it's a wonderful feeling of achievement. Age really doesn't come into it, free and accessible for all as long as we watch the speed. Happy running

Very similar story to mine. Almost 60 and I'll be damned if I'm giving up on life. It's been lovely feeling my body respond to my effort. I'm on week 8 but I've had an ankle twinge this week slowing me up
