Have been battling a chest infection for the past week and just wondering what advice you lovely folks have for getting back into the programme? I was at the end of week 6 a week ago and haven’t been able to run since Catching this lurgy :( . I don’t think my chest will handle a run until Friday earliest but what point should I start the programme at again? I was thinking w6r1 but would welcome any advice! Sooooo upset as I have been loving my runs....

I missed a week at week 6 when I caught a cold. I was advised just to do the next run and it was fine. They reckon 2 weeks to lose fitness. However a chest infection is a devilish thing and can knock the socks off. So, I would try a little run out and see how it goes. Hope you are better soon!

Give yourself plenty time to fully recover. It's said you don't lose any fitness in 2 weeks so you should be able to start where you left off. The first run back can seem a bit tough but don't worry. Good luck 😊

As stated in the guide to the plan, you lose next to no condition in the first two weeks of non running.

Pick up where you left off.
