Week 5 Run 3??

I have just done wk 5 run 2 which I managed ok but I am worried about running for 20 mins as 8 seemed hard. Do most people manage this transition ok or not?

Don't worry about run 3 of week 5, trust the program, that is the run that all the previous walks and runs have been preparing you for.

Drink plenty of water the day before you run it, when you do, run it slowly, no hurry, it's not a race.

I have just looked back on my old Smartphone at that run, nowadays I am averaging slightly more than 3K in 20 minutes at 6.30 pace, when I ran run 3 of week 5 last year in May my pace for that run was 8.40/km and in that 20 minutes run I covered 2.3Km, good luck, once you have completed it you will be very proud of yourself. 😊 🏃🏾

Believe AlMorr and the plan, then believe in yourself. Take it slowly, complete it then celebrate

I’m in same boat. Due to do W5r3 tomorrow. I was ok with the 8 min runs but when I got to end of first I was thinking running for a further 12mins is a big jump. Don’t think I’ll finish this one on first attempt.

You may surprise yourself! Just set off and Don’t Go Too Fast, and see how it goes. One foot in front of another can have amazing results. And if not, there’s always another chance. 👍

You’ll be surprised!! It’s not as bad as it seems as long as you go nice and slow from the get go. You can do it 💪🏼

You are well prepared and just take it slow

I was determined to keep going for the whole 20 minutes and started really really slowly in the hope we could keep going til the end and we had the most comfortable run ever, even managed to speed up for the last couple of minutes

Good luck and enjoy the run

As everyone else has said if you have completed the previous runs trust in the plan! It's more telling your head you can do it, just keep it slow. It's actually not that many minutes more than your previous runs it's just put together. Good luck!

Just echoing what everyone else has said. The only difference between W5R2 and W5R3 is that you are swapping the 5 minute brisk walk in the middle of the 8 minute run sections, with a 4 minute run. So, essentially, R3 is a whole minute shorter... 😊

Unless all the rest of us are Superman/Superwoman in disguise, you have a very good chance of success! Go for it. 👍👏🏼

The thing is, when you do the brisk walk in the middle you aren't exactly resting you're still putting effort in. And the total time of the workout is 21 minutes, so w5r3 is over more quickly.
