We keep hearing on here slow down. Just to let you think about how fast you are actually going I've a comparison for you. I was helping to lead a walking group today. We covered a total distance of about 14k - flat ground. It took 4 hrs 45 minutes. That's about 18 minutes for every km. For those of you nearing the end of the plan concerned that you aren't making 5k in 30 minutes it took us over 1 ½ hours to go the first 5k and they needed a quick sit down for a coffee from a flask. Everyone had a great day out and it was very scenic with the glorious colours in the trees. Whatever stage you are at on your journey congratulate yourselves on the magnificent effort you are putting in.
How slow is slow: We keep hearing on here slow... - Couch to 5K
How slow is slow
Here here, what a great post , I am slow and proud. I am a glass half full sort of person and have long been proud of the calorie count that goes with my long run simply because of my pace I have to be out longer than faster runners, I am trying so hard to get my HM time to under three hours but boy do I burn some calories in my training runs, there is always an upside. Longer times outdoors, more calories consumed more fresh air, more me time for relaxing. 😀. Happy runnning everyone. Rfc x
Oh what an incredibly scenic route! Lucky group to have you as their leader! Wonderful encouragement! Xx
Lovely post, and a lovely photo (although I fail to see any flat ground for that sit down.) As a confirmed slow runner, I like your style!
We got a little lost and happened to find a long low wall over a river at sitting height, long enough for all 20 walkers - that and the view in the picture, plus beautiful woods with lovely fungi made up for the extra 4k we walked.
That scenery is stunning, the walk sounds great, running slow is faster than walking and we love our slow runs where we end happy and pain free
Oow, I know that place. I have a similar photo, taken at the same time of year, from the bridge. Lucky, lucky you to have that on your doorstep.
Hilly running though?
