I was the world’s most excited C25k graduate. I’ve even encouraged lots of others to take it up who have now become regular runners. I took part in about 6 park runs. I was over the moon. I was fairly slow, but ran the whole way in just under 40 mins. Then disaster struck and I had a really bad fall in the summer- not while running- i was hiking on a glacier in Iceland as part of a holiday adventure- and on the descent came down really heavily onto the ice on both knees. That was 3 months and only now do i feel ready to start running again. I’ve been out a couple of times, but I’ve been rubbish. Think I might need to go back to the app and maybe start again from week 4 or so to build up. I’m so frustrated over the whole thing and just hope I manage to get back to where I was.

Poor you, hope you enjoyed Iceland before the fall, it’s a spectacular country. Good luck with easing back into running. Take care
That must have been an amazing holiday in Iceland apart from your fall. I don't think your running is rubbish you just have to give yourself some time . Go back to wk4 as you suggest and build your running up again. Before you know it you'll feel as if you never stopped. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress 😊😊
Don’t be so down on yourself! I bet once you get started again, you’ll zip through the programme, and you’ll so soon be back with the fitness you had before. I’m sure it’ll be hard holding back, but I do believe the plan is just as good to help runners back from a break to return without further injury as it is to help new runners like me.
It may seem like a backward step but going right back to the beginning might well be the best way to recondition your body.
We can all do way more than our bodies are conditioned to do, but not without increased injury risk, especially when recovering from injury.
Slow and steady really is the best way forward.
Take care.
Oh dear! Grim. Glad you’re getting back to it but you’re really wise to take a slow & structured approach to the return. And I’d say if you don’t find it going smoothly, maybe get some advice from a sports physio or similar. Many of us have found it well worth the apparently exorbitant cost because of the excellent expert advice we’ve had. Good luck with your recovery.
