It's been a funny old day today.
Woke up with 'Empty Nest Syndrome' after taking my son back to uni after a lovely family summer together and feeling a bit sorry for myself πͺ
Had breakfast, which is unusual for me if I'm going to do a run in the morning. Maybe my head wasn't into running at that moment in time? Got my running gear on and did very little faffing and left the house in a strange mood π€
Drove to one of my easier routes and parked up. The weather was beautiful π and at that point my head was in a good place βΊοΈ
Forgot my headphones π§ Oh well I thought, doesn't matter and off I went π Happy, happy, happy.
So happy that I missed the turning to go back along the river. So instead of turning around, I carried on running ππΌββοΈ
This is a road I drive along regularly so I thought, just run until you get to.... just run until you get to.... just run until you get to....... ππΌββοΈ THE END then turn around!
On my return journey I didn't miss the turn for the river and at the very end saw a beautiful and majestic heron sitting on the little waterfall π
When I got back to the car park and looked at my running app and saw the distance ππ§π³ OMG! 8k! Had a drink of water then went back to see the heron and took a photo as part of my cool down walk πΈ
I'm completely overwhelmed! Can't believe how far I've come! From 60 seconds to almost 60 minutes (not including the walking before and after)
Thought I was emotional before the run πͺ but this is something else π€£
Have a wonderful day everyone! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
