3rd parkrun in Beeston today on parkruns 15th birthday, and my first free run after completing C25k with no Laura telling me how far along I was. Just some new music on my headphones to keep me going with no track of time or how fast... And I went and did it!! I actually ran my first full 5k, no stopping or walking. And a PB time of 35.14!! πββοΈ Far better than I expected, Iβm soooo chuffed with myself. What a week! π
What a week for milestones!! πββοΈπ - Couch to 5K
What a week for milestones!! πββοΈπ
Congratulations. Thatβs an excellent time for your first 5k. And it sounds like parkrun will become a major part of your running life. It is addictive
Congratulations to you Sonia52 on completing your first 5k Parkrun in a very good time of 35.14, I am sure you enjoyed your run today, ππΎπgreat that you did not stop or walk. π ππΎ
I was worried because I was delayed driving there due to roadworks and a large queue at the toilets there pre run, so I only got a quick two minutes warm up walk before the start, and then I ended up at the back due to the delay, so I walked up and down on the spot while waiting for the countdown. Surprisingly my legs could take it, just my lungs felt the strain... It really does get easier though π To think 10 weeks ago just one minute running nearly killed me!!
Good for you, I was at a parkrun this morning, my UNOFFICIAL time is around 32.40, however, there seems to be a problem with the results, still no official time yet and its now 1pm, I went to the Parkrun homepage, all that there is there on todays result page are blanks.
I will let you know when things have been fixed.
Please do!! And thats a great time! Iβm sure it will be around that. My local park run is quite flat, just a very narrow path in places to get past people sometimes. Someone from Rochdale parkrun was there today, and at the cafe afterwards we all discussed a trip there together sometime. But we also heard it is one of the toughest courses in the UK!! π±
π I will
I got my OFFICIAL result through to me just before 3 o'clock, a reasonable but NOT PB time of 32.31, its the first hill that knocks me out, its short but quite steep, it takes a while to recover by which time the runners that I was pacing are away in the distance, at the other parkrun I was at two weeks ago I was on sub 30 minute 5k time for 4 Kilometres before slowing down a little and getting a PB of 30.55, today I was sub 30 minute 5k time until that hill at 1 Kilometre but hot a reasonable time at the end of as I said of 32.31.
Well done, you're absolutely smashing it!
