Bottled it!

I was going to start my first run today but bottled it! How have people started? Run a day, miss a day? Haven’t even done my full weeks commute on the bike! The weather doesn’t usually bother me! Must be getting old!

Hi

Q. Ok so you bottled it earlier on - ok what’s stopping you from giving it another go now or in say an hour! Or tonight!

You are the only one who can get you out the house nobody else.. we can encourage you 100% but you need to prove to yourself that you want this change no matter what!

Go on give it another go but before you do just ask yourself Why you bottled it?

Do you have a broken leg? = yes! Then ok sit & rest 😂

Are you too unwell to work? = if yes then ok your too poorly to run too😂

Is it too wet outside? = excuse

It’s too cold outside? = excuse

If it’s none of the above then there is no reason for you not to start your running journey... we all started where you are today some of us went out and did it! Some of us “waited till tomorrow” but we all took the most important step! You’ve got this!!

Next post is - I did it!!!!! 👍🏽

Oh dear, never mind. Take a breath and start again. Read Iannoda Truffe’s pinned post here on the site which will give you all you need to know - including some stuff on footwear. Stay hydrated everyday (water!) and take your rest days, they’re non-negotiable. The plan is geared for running every other day but if you need more than one rest day then take it. How you do the plan is up to you. The hardest bit is getting started but you’re on this forum so presumably you’ve given it some thought - all you need to do now is get those trainers on and get out there! Simples! Good luck - and don’t forget to let us know how you get on!

I had never run before starting c25k. Just follow the plan get a good music playlist and go slow. Try to aim for 2-3 litres of water per day and not just on run days.

What's stopping you do you know. Just go now and do wk1r1 then come back here and let us know how you get on.

C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here good luck 😊😊

Thanks! I will do it! I’ve cycled over 1800 miles to work and back this year! I don’t always feel Like that, tbh, but it’s that or a four mile walk for the bus! Cycling is much easier than walking!......watch this space! 1st run is coming!

I used loads of excuses to delay starting C25K.... need running shoes and not trainers, need to walk the running shoes in for a week so I don't get blisters, it's too hot outside, too many people are about..... then on the 12th August I eventually kicked my backside into gear and headed on out! Now I am totally hooked and cannot believe I didn't do it sooner.

When I run and take rest days depends on my travels with work some weeks I have ran a day, rested a day then ran the next day and other weeks like this last one I fit in two rest days before doing parkrun this morning.

Get out the door, go slow and enjoy it :)

I was fed up of feeling cross with myself all day every time Input off starting C25K once again. So I picked a day when there was lots of time to fit it in and I decided to start on treadmill at the gym. After a few weeks and Once I built up some confidence in myself and the program I ventured outside and I haven’t looked back since. Go for it and follow the programme carefully- you won’t regret it!
