New Trainers?

So I’m at the early stages, currently in Week 4, should I consider buying a decent pair of trainers now? If so, any recommendations? I’ve seen references to getting gait analysis but having searched I don’t think that is available that locally to me, so any recommendations without having that done?

I could tell you that the shoes I have are brilliant, supportive and comfortable........which they are........but I would not recommend them for you, because they may be totally inappropriate for your running style. Don't blindly follow recommendations that are not based on an analysis of your gait.

A gait analysis is the only way to get a full and accurate idea of how your feet move on impact with the ground.

This post healthunlocked.com/couchto5... will give you more to go on and there is a link in there to another post about gait analysis and alternatives.

Considering the difference the right trainers make its worth making the trip for gait analysis.

Once you have the right ones, the chances are that when they need replacing you can do this online.

The right trainers for you will really reduce your injury risk, and trainers are your most expensive outlay.

The other expenses such as an addiction to buying lycra, and not being able to walk past a sports outlet come later😊

Thank you for the advice, already googling running clothes I never would have looked at six weeks ago! 😂

I can relate!

I now have a ridiculous amount of funky full length and capri length leggings, I run very early morning, hardly see anyone, but getting them out ready to run is part of the process for me.😊😊

Enjoy the programme, doing it is a great decision 🤩
