So I've managed to get to 5k by following the c25k app but I always go jogging with the dog so we end up taking 30 second breaks while he has a doggy toilet break or another dog goes past etc. My fitbit pauses the time everytime we stop an only counts my actual jogging time. Should I count my 5k time as jogging time or the full time including the mini breaks?
I go jogging with the dog ... : So I've managed... - Couch to 5K
I go jogging with the dog ...
I would say only count jogging time 😊
I would say go out once and get a "you" 5K time and count that one.
Breaks might help or hinder you (ie the rest might do you good, but you might find it difficult to get back into the rhythm
If you want to be sure do one one your own
But in the end, you're only competing against yourself lol, so it doesn't really matter which one you choose
most of my week runs are with the dogs. i find that any pulling along they do to help my speed is cancelled out by wees.
i do a dogless run about once a week or pr to check my times.
as we have got better at the canix, the less they stop as they know they get sniffy time in the warm up and cool down which i now dont count as part of our 5k.
Your 5k time is the time it takes you cover 5k.........however, I don't think Roger Bannister could have claimed to have broken the four minute mile if he only counted his running time and stopped every minute for a 30 second breather.
