Hi, I started C25K exactly a year ago at the age of 65, graduating in December. Since then I’ve been running for 30 mins two - three times a week plus a few park runs. Over the last couple of months I’ve started to notice slight aches in my knees which seem to be getting worse. It’s not a huge problem yet but I’m worried that if I continue with my current schedule I might do permanent damage. Any advice on how to handle this?

🤔 have you bought new shoes/ had your gait checked? The wrong shoes can have a huge impact on your knees.
Are you doing any cross training? Knee strengthening exercises will help.
Thanks, I got new shoes/gait analysis just after I started and am thinking it might be time to renew. I’ll have a look and some more strengthening exercises too.

Are you running 3x a week plus parkrun? You may need a few more rest days, too much running can take a toll on joints. I had my foot x-rayed when I injured my foot and the radiographer spotted the beginnings of arthritis in my toe joints 🙄 Voltarol gel is my new best friend 😁
