Hi - I’d really appreciate comments relating. I’m absolutely drenched in sweat at the end of my run - when will this subside? Is it normal? On week 8 & breathing and bones ok - I only do a light jog.
I’ve always swum 50 lengths x3 per week and thought myself quite fit, however I look as though I’ve just completed a double marathon after 28mins!
I’m 59, 183cm &probably 10kg over my ideal weight - I quit the weed 1 year ago. Dropped 3kg since started 5k program. Things have been getting easier, but it does seem a long process.
Advice appreciated

I was a proper sweaty Betty with a bright red beetroot face when I started. I still get like that when i up my pace or push my distance. I don’t know when it stopped being as bad as that in my first year, but it did. Now when I come home like that I have a big smile on my face because I know I have just completed one of those workout that will make me stronger 😀.
If you really have concerns then you should get checked out, but as for normal, I think we are all different! I have always been a ‘sweater’. Any effort and I’m shining, if I try hard I’m pouring. Even at a comfortable jogging pace in this colder weather, my moisture-wicking layers still have their fibres full 🙂
Some of us sweat more than others. If you’re ok with the breathing and pains then it doesn’t sound like it’s a big issue. The plan keeps pushing the fitness levels, and the recommended consolidation after graduation really does help there, and the strength really increases... that’s only a week away. You’ve done great, enjoy closing the plan out.
Re consolidation runs - I'm doing the graduation run again and again and changing the coach voice for variety (a tip from someone here). I still need the encouragement and the timing. I think everyone is different - I thought maybe 4 to 6 weeks, but someone else said they still didn't find it easy after 10 - and I think I'll be more like that. Oh, and I sweat a lot!
I’m the very same. I sweat very easily. After a 5K run I am drenched and my face is bright red.
I have two boys, one is 9 and runs with me. He looks as cool as a cucumber after a run. His brother on the other hand is just like me, he becomes very hot and sweats when he plays sport or runs about with his friends. Even his hair gets drenched.
Embrace it, it just proves that you are pushing yourself along.
I sweat easily and the reality is as you get fitter you can actually sweat more as your body becomes even more efficient at what it's trying to do, which is cool your body. As you get fitter you'll be able to ease back on pace to reduce it but I gotta be honest... get used to it and find ways to deal. Headbands, buffs etc are great to stop the dripping. Visors and those cool towels in summer as well as reducing layers so that you're only wearing what you really need. When I started I was wearing way too much. On average dress for 10 degrees above the real temp. If you need gloves etc to start get superthin ones or get them off when you can. My jacket converts to a vest which is perfect as you tuck the sleeves into a pocket.
It's actually a good sign of your body operating as it should, we just aren't used to it and socially it can be awkward but as usual... what anyone else thinks is their problem 👍😁
Thanks - the only comment at the gym was praise on my intensity of workout! I guess I’m looking for a nirvana and improved stamina which will come with more work!
