Hi, honestly I feel your pain. I tried hill running at the end of May and that lead to PF in one foot. Awful and excruciating at times. I could control it with ice, rolling, stretches etc but I have to say the real improvement started after I finally went too see a podiatrist. I wish I’d gone earlier. So that might be an option? I was naughty too and tried to carry on running, I figured it hurt if I ran and it hurt if I didn’t but I’m not sure that was wise!
Yep. I’m booking into to a local sports injury clinic that I’ve been to before for my back. I’m in such a middle of ice, rollers, socks, insoles and stretches I’m totally confusing myself so need to get a plan. I just must be able to run, this is non negotiable!!! Thank you for your response x
We all end up on the IC at some point, learning how to deal with it is, um, character-building? Good on you for volunteering, just remember not to go following the runners!
Aaaarrrgghhh why don’t our bodies realise we’re helping them? If only they’d cooperate, for their own good! I don’t know about you, but I’ve found the mental discipline to hold off running to recover WAY more difficult than the physical training 🙄😂
Good luck with the sports injury clinic, and enjoy marshalling!
....but, you could go into the deep end of the swimming pool and ‘run’ in the water. That’s I got through my Achilles niggles. And I felt I was still running!
