So..:: it’s pouring down with rain, mornings and nights are getting darker earlier....my run route is through woods so not the safest!!!

I’m going try a run on the treadmill tomorrow, never run on a treadmill before, where do I start speed wise?? I actually scared 🤣🤣🤣 any tips would be good

You could get a head torch... :) More fun than the treadmill and the rabbits and squirrels enjoy the excitement... :)

Definitely worth thinking about just not sure of the safety aspect of being alone in the dark woods.... may need to look at an alternate route

I have to say...I feel safer in the fields and woods in the dark... apart from an incident with a large badger who scared the life out of me one winter's morning!!! I scared him too... :)

I take my phone which links to my Strava .. so my contacts, husband and son in law, know exactly where I am and where I am running.. and I have two safety wrist-alarms which I wear too...:)

Hahaha, I’m laughing thinking about you scaring a badger 🤣🤣 I’ll have a think about what’s going to be best

Stand on it, press start and then up it until you are in brisk walk... after warmup gradually increase the speed so you’re comfortable and running... make sure you can still speak a sentence and there you have your two speeds. Can’t give you numbers as we are all different. If you know your usual mile or kilometre pace you can convert it to kph and get a rough idea, but all treadmills are different and so the figure they give is only an estimate of speed.

Then there’s the headlight option... you may look silly, but you run the way you are used to.

I’m gonna give it a go tomorrow.... if you hear any news reports about a woman being crushed by a treadmill then you know it didn’t end well 🤣🤣 based on my current pace, I’ve googled it and it says 9.2kph. I’ll get one of the instructors to help me set it up right 🙈🙈

It’s kinda hard to end up under the treadmill... at worst you get thrown off the back 😂

We’ll see 🤣🤣🤣 expect the unexpected and you can’t go wrong

If you expect it it’s no longer unexpected 😂

Good luck

This made me giggle. Not about you being crushed obviously, just because it reminded me about my own treadmill issues. I just don’t seem to get along with them. Me running on the spot whilst the belt moves confused my brain and I start running odd. There is safety clip thing you attach to yourself that will stop the treadmill in case you venture too far so it is quite unlikely you’ll fall off. Hope you have better luck than me!! :)

I’m perfectly fine walking fast uphill on a treadmill but something about running freaks me out. I’ll be heading out soon to try 🙈🙈
