Went over on ankle, grrrr

Had been in a nice little groove with the parkruns and went over on my ankle last Sat. Ankle still niggly, don’t think I should run but I’m finding it frustrating!

Moving it round in a circle feels a bit tender, should I wait until it’s completely normal again?

That’s exactly how I felt after a slight twist one run a month ago. I ran again after a couple of days and now it’s taken me a month to get back running... be warned! I’ve found ice the most effective treatment - my physio said 2-3 times a day, for 10 minutes. Everyone is different of course, but I’d advise caution! Good luck!

Thanks, il try the ice too 😀

Wait until its better or you might regret it, don't run with pain.

oh boo, (un)welcome to the club. I went over it twice in a day and again after 10 days when it had got better. Saw physio last week who massaged it but had loads more problems since so seeing her again today. Best rest I say... (having not rested)

Hi, Well I’m just walking out of the physio now. It turns out my right ankle is quite weak and so I have to stop running. I have exercises to do to strengthen it before I can get back to my plodding. I would strongly suggest that you see a physio and not wait so long as I did. If you choose one that specialises in sports they will be able to make sure that everything is working well and which Areas to strengthen. But do rest. Good luck with it and let me know how you get on X

Frustrating but a healed ankle, means getting to your goal. Running on it now means further injury and frustration! Big hug! 🌷
