Still struggling to do 25 minutes. Managed 20 yesterday got a busy weekend ahead can’t see me out running til Wednesday at earliest. Doing 3 runs a week but struggling with length of time I’m running. I thought it would be getting easier by now. About a month since my illness but no easier yet.

I know it's said all the time but just slow down . You may think you are going slow but if you really try I bet you can slow down some more . You can do it 😊

Could you run 10, brisk walk a couple and then run another 10 maybe? That walk could be shortened quite easily until it was gone. I also agree with the above, slow down as much as you can, especially in the first few minutes. You’ll soon be back, just keep getting out there.

For what it's worth: I had a cold earlier in the year, after two to three weeks all the symptoms had gone but it was around six weeks until my running was back to where it had been. Also, the heat makes running a lot harder.

It may well be post viral fatigue. If so you will start to feel a lot better by 6weeks...listen to your body...take it very slowly & keep hydrated at all times!!

Sounds like you’re feeling a bit under pressure with lots on and that may be making it harder to fully recover. I’d say, stay slow, stay hydrated, make sure you’re getting plenty of vitamins to recover, and try to make sure you stay in the moment when you’re running - enjoy that time to yourself not thinking about the next thing on the list. Seriously, you’ve done this, you can do it, be kind to your body and yourself 👍🏻👏🏻

If you've finished the c25k program then i had the best advice given to which was not to try to run for 30mins everytime and to run a mix of short and long runs each week. For me short run is about 20 mins of hill work, long runs are about 40 mins now. Im slowly building up the time but im not knackered and have energy to spare, the short runs give you a bit of a rest but are planned in so your not failing.

Not what you're looking for?
