Really want to be able to run but really struggling to complete 90 seconds of running. Need some tips on breathing too.

Slow down. If you are struggling with breathing you are running too fast. It really is a gentle jog not a full on run you are looking for. Once you get a realistic speed the breathing will become easier.

Good luck.

Just breathe..like you do all the time :) If you are struggling..then just slow down, and then slow down more.

Try to relax into the runs and take it, oh so steadily. We often are so intense when we start, holding everything rigid...many of us held our breath in the first runs, until the runs got longer!

Take it easy I struggled massively too. Guess it’s perserverance. I am now on week 8 never did I think it’s possible. Have rest days between each run. Good luck

Just have fun. It’s so easy to get bogged down and fed up. Set your stall out to enjoy the session. Keep things in perspective. It’s a walk with a few bits where you walk a bit faster. The idea is just to get you walking, and oh so gradually into getting both feet off the floor

Breath normally Relax and have fun 🏃‍♀️👍✔️🙂

I think that relaxing is key. If you go so slow that it's barely a shuffle, slower than walking, but with a different movement, you will certainly be able to do 90 seconds. Once you've done that, then as the program goes on, you gradually build up your fitness. I guess I am just echoing the other comments, relax, go slow, but it does work. I am now able to go for 40 or 45 minutes and I also struggled to run 90 seconds

When I did week 2 I honestly thought I was going to die , it seemed so long . I took advice given on here from oldfloss and others and took it very steady. Follow the programme and listen to the more experienced runners on here and you will do it.

Just relax into the run! The best thing you can do is enjoy it! I just plod along slowly and work through any cramps! Just take your time! Also it’s good to try and breath through your nose and out your mouth if possible. Don’t push so hard that you wouldn’t be able to talk to anyone whilst running and if you need to take a break then do! Just keep your eyes on the prize!

Firstly well done for starting on your running journey! That is the first struggle you have got over. Secondly I can only repeat what others have said slow down and then maybe slow down more! I had trouble to start with and when I did that it certainly got easier. Let us know how you get on and good luck with the rest of your runs xx
