I've haven't been keeping up my C25K régime over the summer - I started running in the winter and once the sun came out I just got far too hot so although I've been doing Park Run most weeks since graduating in December last year, my overall running ability has dropped dramatically. On the plus side, my walking pace has improved, which shows my overall fitness is better than it was, but in terms of running - I struggle with 2 minutes now.

SO on 1 September I am going to re-start C25K. I don't think it will take me as long to complete the training as it did when I started on 1 October last year (it took me 3 whole months) as I'm not starting from the couch this time - I have 23 Park Runs under my belt and am proud of persevering with that, at least!

When I first started last year, my incentive was to show my brother I could do a Park Run. Now that I'm starting over, my incentive is the 10k I rashly signed up for in March of next year!

I've done it before, I can do it again. Week 1, Run 1, September 1 ... watch this space!

Good motivation to start! I wonder whether that “muscle memory” thing is true. That once your body has been “trained” it will know it can do it! Hope it is! Look forward to reading your posts 😊

I redid C25k as only got to wk7 first time. 2nd time round was so much more enjoyable. Not easier I might add! But the jumps in time didn't hold any fear as I had done them before.

Enjoy x

Thanks everyone! I'm actually looking forward to getting back to this with more knowledge than I had first time around. I've now had gait analysis and my brother bought me the appropriate running shoes, so I'm all set! I'll keep you posted!
