Here’s hoping I succeed this time!

Started Couch to 5K last year and got to week 6 (was really proud of myself as I have never been able to run, even when at school many many years ago) but then whilst running on holiday my toes hurt and then had bruising and struggled to do anything. Took months for nail to repair. Motivation just went out the window and I’ve struggled ever since and then I beat myself up for failing. Reached 60 in February and just feel old and unfit and so have decided to pull myself together and get back on track so fingers crossed! I can do this!

How great is it that you’re taking up running at 60? You can definitely do it.

I had a similar setback when I started in September 2017, and started again right back at the beginning and could immediately feel how much easier Week 1 was than first time. I still struggled with weeks 6 and 7 (if I remember rightly) and then suddenly I came out of the tunnel. I’m still slow, but I keep on at it, and sometimes I actually enjoy it. 😉

We’ll all be rooting for you, but don’t beat yourself up every time you don’t quite make it. Just getting off the couch is an achievement.

Good luck. You can do it. Xxx

Congratulations at getting out there again. 60 is the new 40 - at least I hope it is as I turned 60 last week. Definitely not old. Good luck. Keep us updated on you progress.

Well done getting started again. I'm similar - over 60, overweight, ran previously but not for past 15 years. Started C25K November 2018, injured arm January, restarted April, injured ankle May (neither were running related and both are fine again now). Restarted for third time in July at week 4, now about to finish week 7 later today.
