FINALLY finished Week 8

After 4 gruelling attempts at W8 R3 I finally completed it this morning. I don’t know why it took me so many attempts, maybe the heat was too much most days? After running this morning though I really didn’t feel good - my legs were shaking, I felt faint and dizzy and nauseous. What can cause this? I did drink before I started.

Many thanks for all your continuing support.

Could be the heat, the other thing is drinking plenty of water on rest days and run days.

I’m a huge fan of the Japanese slow jogging technique and run this way still. If first saw it in w6 and wished I’d seen it earlier. It really helped me as the durations increased. It’s a low impact style of running and could be the thing for you?

It’s more than just running slowly so it’s worth watching a few times, and practicing the jumping/landing bit. It really helped me with my breathing. I can now run for over an hour this way (not in the heat mind!) and that wouldn’t be possible if I was running faster. It’s great for building strength and stamina and I’ve lost over 5 inches from my waist running this way!

Hope this helps x

Did you get yourself some flat-soled trainers as well? I've tried doing this but it didn't really make much difference to me. I still get knackered very quickly. 😂 I'm probably twice as heavy as the Japanese professor in the video.

I didn’t - but did practice the landing part in my thicker soled shoes - as the light landing and short stride are key. I had to watch this a few times and refine it before I really felt I’d got it right - and I’m about twice his size too! And sometimes I’m really ridiculously slow, even more than my normal really slow!

It's hard to say Litten. So many variables. Are you genuinely feeling a bit run down throughout the day or is this just when you're running? It's horrible weather for running, it's like wet season in the tropics, really is sapping. People will give you advice on here.. but if you're concerned about anything, see a professional.

Hydration is a key aspect... every day and not just run days...The humidity is catching many folk out...It could be that or a little bug that is getting you... so, so many reasons... Rest up and make sure you feel better before heading out again,,

Did you eat before your run . I run at 10am so I have weetabix with banana about 8 or just before. It depends what time you run. Some people are quite happy to run in an empty stomach , I'm not one if them . Also lots to drink 7 days a week . Good luck 😊
