This probably only applies to me but if there’s anyone else out there not doing their stretches - those 15 second holds, grabbing your ankle & pressing it against your bum, those things - you need to start doing them!

I didn’t have an attitude about them or anything I just forgot or couldn’t be bothered. But when I started doing the longer runs I noticed a few twangs of pain & aches afterwards. Started doing stretches before & after, significantly fewer pain twangs etc.

I know, I know, why didn’t I just do them in the first place but hey...

Anyway, for anyone else like me, DO YOUR STRETCHES, it’s worth it!

Otherwise happy running everyone!

Yep! 👍🏻🤣

Every day is a school day. Sometimes you have to learn lessons the hard way for them to really sink in...

I can still feel the effects of not doing any warm down after a 9 mile run once... I'll never forget that discomfort! 🤣🤣🤣 Warm down and stretch! Always!

I've been doing those (think you're talking about the NHS ones) since the start! I've had a few muscle injuries over the years so take no chances.

Still do them now, i have the exact same routine from the start just running further :o)

Please make sure you are doing appropriate stretching.

Pre run should be dynamic stretches.

Post run should be static stretches..... and I hold them for thirty seconds!!!
