‘Does it really matter’

Thank you C25K family for all your recent comments/support re - unable to run 5K in 30 minutes - I’ve changed my mindset - ‘does it really matter’. I CAN RUN that’s what matters - 2 years ago I struggled to the first lamppost- but now I can happily run for 45-60 minutes without stopping admittedly not the fastest but I am no longer going to beat myself up about speed -and just enjoy my runs 😀. How is everyone else doing ?

Hooray!!!

You run, your way for enjoyment..because you can :)

Unless you are in this for competitive racing, or outrunning a wild animal:) relax and take in every single thing. If you read any of my lengthy rambles, you will see what I mean.

The lovely long slow runs are amazing, and I will let you into a secret... they do build every single thing in your running...I including, eventually, distance and shhhh, speed) :)

You are out running because you can and not because you have to. Just try and really enjoy it . Good luck 😊

Hello Heartlesstroll, thank you for posting this😊

I just go out with a minimum time in mind, why put pressure on myself!

Sometimes I stop at that minimum time, sometimes I go 10 or more minutes over, maybe even more. Fact is, it doesn't matter. I find this way more enjoyable, I expect I will go out for longer runs when it's cooler, I'm pretty sure the heat adds 10 minutes to each run 🥵🥵

But we are still here, and still enjoying this (or at least the after run!) and that's the important thing.

Good for you. 👏🏼 Welcome to the world of Contented Runners. It can be tricky to stay with it, but really it’s the best mindset. 😊
