Yes, I know that everyone realises that it's really hot, but I was hoping for my first consolidation run tonight. Better leave it till tomorrow...☹

Not wise to run in 38C/100F, leave your consolidation run until Saturday when it should be a bit cooler, I live in Central Scotland, the max temperature recorded at my local weather station was 31.7 C/89F at 4PM, that is COLD compared to 42C/108F in Paris

Stop teasing me. 🥶 People walking around in hats and scarfs over here in Ireland. Overcast, windy and cold today but at least it’s not raining.

Enjoy the nice warm hot summertime weather.

😂......I'm sure it's not that bad.

It really is. Was just 18 degrees today, overcast and blowing a gale. When the UK have a heat wave we just wave 👋 back from the 🥶 cold wet windy Island of Ireland.

Winter is coming!

The heatwave is not much fun, honest. Everyone is a sweaty mess, and you can't even go for a run :-)

I know, a colleague of mine is in London this morning. He told me that some trains are not running due to the tracks buckling in the heat. If you want a break come to Ireland. Same today, 18 degrees windy and overcast. Amazing to think your only 1 hour away in the plane and the weather can be so different. We get all the weather off the Atlantic where as you get continental air.

Yes, when we get a heat wave it’s about 25 degrees for lunch time. 😂

Hi Zebadee1! Nope, don't do it....I went at 5.30 am...it was cool and lovely.....then, later on I see these people running in the heat of the day!😱dangerous behaviour that! It's around 5am or not at all for me at the moment...stay safe everyone..😊🏃‍♀️

If only there was the option not to work as it's too hot. Was delightful yesterday 🤣🤣🤣

I know it's frustrating but 38 degrees is ridiculous for running...I was luckier as we only had it 30 degrees here so when it had cooled down to 24 degrees 😳 at 9pm I went for it. Much cooler and more sensible today...enjoy your run 👍🙂

I left it a bit late this morning and by the time I got to the seafront it was 30°C again. I run for just over 20 minutes, but decided that was enough and went to do aqua aerobics instead.....on a positive note, I wore my running shorts for the first time ever and no one fainted. (Although they could have been blinded by the whiteness of my leggs) 😀....

Hi zebadee 1, I might sound stupid in asking this but, what is a consolidation run?

Zebadee1 profile image
Zebadee1Graduate in reply to Sdyates2019

That's what the first few runs after the graduation are called. Think it's because you consolidate everything you learnt so far and then can start working on your speed, pace, stamina and so on....I might have got it completely wrong, I only graduated on Monday 😀

Your 100% correct. I graduated 2 years ago and I’m still consolidating. Building running legs.
