I wasn’t able to run early this morning and really didn’t fancy the 22 degrees of 10 o’clock so I headed to my local pool.
It’s the first time I’ve tracked my swim on my watch and I’m amazed at how many calories I burnt during my 50 lengths. I seemed to have more stamina, than in the past and put this down to my running.
With the temperatures due to rise this week I think I’ll be sticking with the pool.
How is everyone staying cool?

Good for you Emlist29, better a swim than a run in that 22C temperature.
This morning before 9 o'clock I ran slowly run 3 of week 6 for exercise in almost 20C temperatures, the highest temperature that I have ever ran in, however, I was well hydrated and had my shortest shorts on, a sleevless vest but it still felt pretty warm, immediately I completed my run I had a drink of juice out of my water bottle which was in a pouch in my new running belt, so no danger of me getting dehydrated.
Good idea, the swimming. Here in Cumbria it's not as hot, but still around 20C. I have been on the injured couch with a torn hamstring, so today was the very first day I allowed myself out again. I just did Couch to 5K, week 1 pattern of 60 second jogs with 90 second walks. I can feel the hamstring near the end of the runs, so I think I have it about right. Even so, it was straight to the shower afterwards, as I was drenched in sweat. Oddly I started running last year in very similar weather.
I'm sorry, what!? 22 C is too hot? Am i reading this correctly? Lol. My run today W5R2 was at sunrise with 37C and 84% humidity!🤭 Not the best conditions but i got through.
I shouldn’t worry too much about your watch- If it’s designed for use in the water, it’ll be perfectly ok! I’ve been slightly agin getting an Apple Watch on the grounds that I have an iPad and iPhone, so they already have plenty of my money and I don’t want to be totally dependent on a piece of fruit! But maybe I’ll have to re-look at it! I’m stuck on week 8 - like you I’m finding it pretty hot on the pavement!
