Running like a tourist

In the beautiful Dordogne this week. I went out with my brother in law who told me he is very slow (humph, that's a 6min per km slow not my kinda slow) plus bast**d hills...I think I'll go do a few lengths of the pool after my practice 4k 😡

That's a bit mean of him! If I go out with someone who is slower I let them set the pace. And if I want to go faster then I go on my own or extend the run. Don't let yourself be pressurized by a super fit brother-in-law.

Sounds gorgeous though! I love running abroad. Enjoy👍😎

He did let me go at my pace to be fair; just felt like I was holding him back. He's definitely ditched for the next run!

And yes it is beautiful here😎

My husband did a 'slow' HM at the weekend as he had a bit of a cramping issues - under 2 hours finishing the last couple of miles at 8 mins per mile.....I would be blinking flying to have to keep up with his slow! Have a lovely time away and ditch the brother-in-law for the next run.

Lol. He's ditched now I know where I'm headed. Also he has a sore Achilles' tendon whereas I'm hot to trot 😁🏃

Sooooooo envious, I ran ( very early ) in the Dordogne last year.. in Le Bugue.. where are you.. it sounds wonderful..!

Folk who tell you they are slow, generally are not... !!! You do right going at your own pace!

We are near Villereal. It is gorgeous, my sister lives here (jealous face). Just swam 1.2k to make up for dodgy run. Definitely easier pursuit in this climate😊

Heat can be a killer and never be faced down by a fast runner, your own pace is always best for you. And so you don't have the Achilles heel.... whereas he....
